Terms of use
Last updated: 14 October 2026
These terms apply to the meum lingua app and website, operated by Meum GmbH, Switzerland. By using the app you agree to them.
What meum lingua is
meum lingua is a personal language-learning reader. It opens news articles that you can already access — free articles, or paid articles through your own newspaper subscription — and creates a simplified version in the language you are learning, for your personal study. Articles remain the property of their publishers; every adapted article links to the original. Please respect your newspapers' own terms, for example by not sharing your newspaper login.
Your account
You sign in with your email address. Keep access to your email secure, as anyone who can read it can sign in. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
Subscriptions
meum lingua Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings. Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before they end. Refunds are handled by Apple. Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies.
Fair use
Pro includes unlimited use for personal learning, with a generous daily fair-use ceiling to protect the service from automated abuse. Free accounts have daily limits shown in the app.
AI-generated content
Adaptations, explanations, corrections and tutor replies are generated by AI. They are usually accurate but can contain mistakes. For important information, read the original article.
Liability
We provide the app as is, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect damages or for the content of third-party newspapers.
